Position Overview

A Lighting Technician on the Facilities Maintenance Team will perform a variety of commercial lighting installations and retrofits at healthcare, education, and commercial facilities in the Cincinnati area. 

Responsibilities

 

• Assemble, install, test lighting or wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.

• Replace failed ballasts, drivers, or transformers; damaged sockets/tombstones; and or other components within the confines of lighting fixtures.

• Test lighting systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as an ohmmeter or voltmeter to ensure compatibility and safety to system.

• Follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment.

• Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, and power tools.

• Work from ladders, scaffolds, personnel lifts, and roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. - Perform physically demanding tasks, such as moving and lifting heavy objects.

• Other responsibilities as necessary.
   

Requirements

 

Must have training and/or experience equal to commercial lighting systems. Color vision, physical dexterity, ability to work on a ladder or lift, and hand-eye coordination.
